Subject: [CR]Mug Guards...Fenders...Seat Pillars...It's All Rock And Roll To me! Computer Woes...

As far as Brits (I hope that isn't a pejorative term...Mick?) and Americans being separated by a common language...we Americans need not look to Europe for indications of our terms in cycling functioning as obfuscation. A few years ago a fellow Michigan cyclist took me to task over my referring to the Brooks Team Pro on one of my bikes as a seat. He stoutly maintained it to be a "Saddle". I pointed out to him that he had just sold me a post for it that he called a "Seat" post. Really, it was more than up with which I was willing to put ("At this point Sir Winston must be rolling over in his grave", he said gravely.

I had a corrupted file cause a massive computer failure yesterday that wiped out all my E-Mail records from recent weeks back to my last back up. I know that I was supposed to be searching the stash for several items for list members...a stem and set of bars...a deal was hanging on some Vittoria tires for someone's green bike until I saw if I was going to use them on a current project and I was supposed to keep a couple of folks informed on a large amount of extra C Record stuff I will soon have. Would anyone with whom I have such pending interests going please drop me an E-Mail and give me a prod as to just who wanted what? My memory is less and less reliable these
days, I'm afraid.
Thanks,
