Can anyone tell me the purpose of the hollow tube extending backwards below the saddle on this bike? Looks like a perfect place to put a wine bottle cork!! Lou Deeter, Orlando FL

Lou: That's part of the "L-shaped" seat post. Usually, it is installed 180 degrees from how you see it in that picture, i.e. facing directly forwards. It then allows some fore-aft adjustment of the saddle, and provides a more forward saddle position.
