Subject: [CR]Derailleur Hanger

Ray was asking about derailleur hangers and when they first appeared. I should not be surprised to find french constructeurs brazing on various type pre war as well as the ubiquitous Cyclo. I have a 1947 Gillott with a Simplex hanger that has had the upper portion cut off and then brazed neatly to the dropout. I have frames from from 1948 and 1950 with the same feature. I believe the cast Simplex dropouts with hangers were available from 1950-51 so that figures.
