Soukhorouchenkov USSR won the road race, Czeslaw Lang of Poland was second and Barinov USSR was third. I'm fairly certain that the Russians rode Colnago bikes. I think the Poles rode Ciocc- not sure about the spelling. Re the hour record I read someplace that Rominger's frame was second hand! It had been used by a Russian pursuiter, maybe Ekimov? Certainly it was old tech. What about the current holder of the "athletes" hour. He says he used 195mm cranks !! They will be worth a bundle on Ebay in twenty years. Ray Green Brighton England
