I never thought I'd be pitching in on this. I'm a newbie at it, but I painted a few coats of Bullseye Amber Shellac (Home Depot) onto my, uh, plain Cinelli Cork bars a few months ago and they look and work and feel great. They've worn great, too. They're shiny. But they bashed a chip off when I've tipped over. It would paint over again perfectly, I'm sure. Red 1974 Paramount. Honey B17. Sweet!
DON'T FORGET THE TWINE!!! : )
