Thanks for the mention Tom. I imagine it had something to do with the one I sold a few minutes ago. The buyer wrote; "Wish I had known you had these earlier. Practically destroyed an old Magistroni crank with the hammer 'n' heat method. It's gonna take a machine shop visit to get it right. "
One thing I wanted to add is that a press is as important for installing the cotters as removing them. I haven't had a cotter loosen up since I started using a press. Using the nut for tightening isn't enough, and swinging a hammer in that area doesn't seem like "Plan A" on a nice bike.

Don't worry. I have about 20 on hand and will get more made before
those are gone. When I saw a well used Park get $82 on ebay, I
thought there might be a market for 10-20 of them. But, I've sold 50
since late last Nov. which tells me there's a lot of old bike lovers
out there.
