Lou; Merlin was bought out by JRJ in 1955. I'm not sure when the Merlin line ceased, as I believe that JRJ produced both Merlin anf JRJ frames simultaniously, possibly into the early 60s. As for Merlin Titanium, you're correct, as they started up in 1986.

I believe the off-topic Merlin Titanium company didn't start until 1986, so if he had a Merlin from before 83, it wasn't by the boys in Mass. On the other hand, I don't know when the Merlin shop in London stopped making frames named Merlin. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL

MERLIN: Merlin Tyre Co., 219, Goswell Rd., London E.C.1. England. Very high reputation. 1930's survived into the 1950's and was taken over by Bob Jackson of Leeds. Models in 1949: Path Road, Massed-start, Super Chromolite, and L'Internationale.

Discussion...

Is Merlin considered KoF?

I think the agreed upon definition of a Keeper of the Flame would be lugged steel frame construction.

Agree or disagree?
