I've been keeping up with you guys via the archives for the last few years, but decided to join the group to tell of my latest acquisition. But first, a little about me. Been riding actively since about 1980, and have owned a few bikes since then. First road bike was a white Motobecane with almost all steel components except the brakes and stem. This was about 1975. Second bike was a white Peugeot with 3-arm aluminum Stronglight crank, Mafac brakes, Simplex derailers. This was about 1978. Bought both of these bikes at Roy's Bicycle Shop in Glendale California. Moved to Texas in 1979, and in 1981 bought a light blue Univega Gran Rally with Shimano 600 group. Wish I still had it! Rode 1000's of fun miles on it. Bought in 1984 a recently discussed Nishiki 'Maxima' that I rode until 2001 with a variety of on-topic and off-topic parts. 1000's of more happy miles on it. Still have the frame and maybe I'll build it up again. Current single bike is a Panasonic DX-2000 from mid 80's built up with recent Shimano parts. My favorite bike that I love riding more than any other is my very off-topic Trek tandem that I ride with my wife. She has a early 80's Bruce Gordon frame built up with recent Shimano parts if she should ever decide that she is tired of the tandem.

Now-about my current purchase. Just got a McLean (SN#M02091) from the original owner. I have another McLean frame (SN#M28031) that I bought a few years ago along with the Bruce Gordon from their original owner. The just-acquired McLean is equipped with TA triple crank, Phil BB, Campy front derailer, shift levers, seat post, brakes, with an aluminum Campy headset. Wheels are Phil 3-piece hubs laced to Super Champion (with oval red label) clincher rims. Has a 5-speed freewheel. Rear derailer, pedals, bars, stem & brake levers are not original. Size is 49-ish CM. Too darn small for me so I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but was too good of a deal to pass up. Busy busy busy this time of year since I work in retail/e-tail so I'll have to wait awhile before I play with the new bike.

Thats all for now-
