Subject: [CR]Loosening bike parts with Beer...Regional variation

I can see how that should work for Steven Willis and Ray Homiski in the East , but I can assure you that at my favorite LBS in Holt Michigan that the occasional Pizza and a slight application of the almighty dollar works much better. I have gotten a couple of the younger mechanics very interested in classic bikes now, too, and the chance to ride some of the beauties I bring in usually has them lined up at the door to greet me. My old friend Bill, the owner, practically has to arm wrestle them now for the chance to work on something less boring than their usual modern fare. I am pleased to see that as some folks have seen my bikes in there, there are more folks bringing in old bikes to get worked on there. I even have my eye on an old Richard Sachs in my size that turns up there every once in a while that the owner has replaced with a modern Ti bike. This Lubrication of the system even gets me the occasional oldie but goodie part when it turns up from the basement. I wonder if there are other regional variations on what works best to loosen
stubborn parts?
