Pete, First I have to say that everything I'm sharing, I learned from others on the CR list, and most of it is buried in the archives. I'm not focusing too closely on dates here, because that is not my strong area. Greg, Chuck and perhaps Tom and some others would be better for that (Greg probably told ME most of this stuff anyway). I agree with Tom, to ignore the drillings in the older set that Sarah showed, they are a beautiful after-market job done on NR (Record actually) levers. You can confirm it because the outside hole locations do not match up with the pierced outer holes of any true SR lever.

Here is a link to some photos showing the differences between Campy brake levers I have on hand. The top three pics were taken today with a good quality camera, but I didn't take a lot of time setting it up for perfect shots. The remaining pics were taken quite some time ago with a poor quality camera, but show the shape and relief differences better, I think. Do note that I may do the switcheroo of particular models from one pic to the next, so read the text below each expanded photo and use each photo ONLY for the captioned purpose (i.e., if I'm describing the cable relief shapes, then ignore the blade drillings or tip shapes in that photo ... they may not correlate with anything described elsewhere). http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/Campagnolo_Brake_Levers Be sure to click the top three pics twice for clearer images!

Another good close-up; believed early 1980s, fatter and straighter tip, still with globe logo hoods, and obviously pierced and then bent: http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/Colnago_AeroTT_1980_Olympic_Replica/Coln81AeroTT51USSR80OlymRe plic07?full=1

Someone please fill in the accurate dates, if you know them, and correct my inaccuracies if you see them. Chuck will also know more about the changing space between the top of the logo and the top edge of the lever ... but that's all in the archives (no charge, Chuck).

Tom; Greg Parker has also stated the ones I'm currently selling are the older version , which I would think are earlier 70s from about 73. The ones on the right in Sarah's photo have ten holes running down the side, mine have eight on each side and seven in the middle.

My guess: They appear to be drilled, but are mostly likely levers that started life as Records and had all the drilling added. The holes located where the factory would have drilled them don't look like the drilled and countersunk type I'd expect. They just look like they were drilled with a straight drill bit. Just a guess. If they are the factory drilled ones, the added holes kinda ruin the originality.

As brake levers go, however, they are all still cool.
