Subject: [CR]Southern California Baldy Ride: Update

Sunday December 18th 10am, we're riding up to Baldy Village via Glendora Mountain Road. This route is still closed to motorized traffic because of fire-damage, and it is one of the most scenic bike rides in Southern California. The initial climb up is the most challenging; after that the route is moderate. 5000 feet of climbing in 25 miles. We'll have lunch in Claremont afterwards.

The ride starts at 10am sharp at Pioneer Park in Azusa. The park is at the corner of N. Dalton Ave. and E. Sierra Madre. There's plenty of street parking there.

I hope to see as many of the California CR contingent as can make it. If you're going to come, please let me know, so I can expect you.

So far the crew includes:

Jack Bissell Charles Andrews Chuck Schmidt Matt Gorski Joe Decruyenaere Sterling Peters Brian Baylis

The 10-day forecast calls for clear, sunny, mild weather on the 18th!

I'm still working to confirm that the road will be open to bicycle traffic that day. Sometimes it's shut down for one reason or another. I should know more next week. I will inform everyone if the road is closed

As of now, the ride is on!
