Any one of the the myriad of front cycle lamps all to much the same design as this would be appropriate ;

http://ebay.com/<blah

Commonly by Miller or Lucas and all with the same inherent faults - they eat batteries, the switch mechanisms could be iffy to say the least - oh and hit a pothole hard and they make excellent roadkill... Lasted thro' the 70s until the advent of the not much better plastic version and the demise of Miller. As a paperboy in the 60s I must have spent most of the meagre wages on batteries for these lights... Just to be able to sneak a read of health & efficiency at the newsagents !

Unless of course your building a touring machine in which case you would be looking for a Miller or Lucas dynamo set...

Can someone offer suggestions as to what type of lamp or light would have been used on a 1950's British road bike with a drive side,fork mounted lamp bracket?Recently picked up 1959 Jack Taylor Clubman #3352 (thanks Mick),and I would like to kit it out with the correct lamp. This model also has what appears to be the original headset,which seems to require some sort of pin spanner to engage a pair of holes on opposite sides of the top nut and upper adjustable cup.Might there be a way to adjust these without using a rare and elusive special tool?
TIA...
