Given that it appears to have DT shifter bosses instead of cable stops for bar ends, I suspect that a cable pulley was mounted on a Simplex shifter boss (Art. 599). You could run a demultiplicator on a Simplex shifter boss but it would be a slightly sloppy fit. And you would have to thin the demultiplicator slightly to avoid binding, as the shifter boss is slightly shorter than the one for the demult.

When I brazed on a demultiplicator, I removed the boss from the clamp and brazed it to an H2O fitting diamond, with 45% silver w/cad. Then I stuck the diamond to the frame with silver bearing soft solder. The idea was to keep the temps low, to avoid damaging the chromed bearing surface of the boss. http://bikesmithdesign.com/fittings/demultiplicator.JPG
