I was just a boy at that time, but I recall this rather well. As well as Charly's debacle the following year. By the way. I knew it wasn't just a short stop to pee, but some kind of diarrea that forced him into the bushes.

For the record, that epic Bondone stage had taken the Carovana over these Campolongo, Rolle and Brocon Passes before the final ascent to Bondone, towering above Trento.

Let me point out one inaccuracy: Bondone is not a Dolomite mountain. And a few misspellings:
> Merano-Trente stage. Trento
> Fiorenze Magni became race leader. He was as tough as Fiorenzo
> off. "But Fiorenze" you have the Maglia Rose!" shouted Fiorenzo Rosa

> Nencini won. The great Gastone!

By the way, Giro 2006 will have a stage finish on Monte Bomndone, I think may 23rd. See you there?

Cheers
