Yes it will work. My Basso was originally built up with DA indexed 7 speed on C Record hubs. No problems. Nice freewheel but if you use it for indexed shifting it requies DA levers and derailleur...not compatible with other Shimano stuff.. Since this is CR we'll assume that you will be using a NR friction drive train :-)
