Hello CR Gang!

I'm looking forward to this weekend's ride up Mt. Baldy. I'm going to be riding my 1983 Woodrup Giro-Touring. I posted a link to a slideshow of it earlier this year, back after I set it up as a fixed gear bike. But I've subsequently reinvented it with gearing and Brooks baggage. I am VERY excited about this new set-up. In fact, I guess I can get away with this kind of hyperbole in these circles, but I'm overwhelmed by its beauty now!

Special thanks to CR lister Jason Cloutier for hooking me up with the Suntour shifters and to Bill and Diane at wallbike.com for the Brooks saddle and saddlebags (one of which I've mounted up front as a handlebar bag).

Here are two shots as a preview of the upcoming new slideshow of this bike:

Yes, I've got toeclips on this bike! I haven't used them in a dozen years off-road or 20 years on the road, but this bike has them now and I'm excited about it. They are Campy alloy clips mounted to Suntour Superbe Pro track pedals with Cinelli straps (all of which I've been hording for years for just the right purpose). I also just dug out my 1983 Sidi shoes to wear. They still fit and whodathunk the cleats seem to still be in a good position!?

All the best, Chris Kostman Oak Park, CA http://www.adventurecorps.com

PS I'll be riding PBP in 2007 also. Sounds like we'll have quite the CR posse there!
