Subject: [CR]Christmas gifts for CR members

Hi Crew, It is Christmas time guys!!! Forget about buying, selling, trading, wheeling and dealing and how about a good old fashioned gift giving. Although mainly a lurker, when I have needed help, support, advice or parts there has always been a raft of support, with no obligations, coming from the CR listmembers worldwide. My chance to return the goodwill - and what better time than now. What I have are 10 sets of wheel cable guides which are a braze-on item where two tiny steel posts are attached to the top of the BB shell, tiny alloy wheels are screwed within the cut-out of the posts and are secured by miniscule threaded screws. This set up is what I use on my 50s Malvern Star 5 Star and makes shifting almost effortless and smooth. These items were actually smuggled out of the old Malvern Star factory in the early 60s. This technology surpassed everything from that time on - almost zero cable friction and lighter that most vintage BB cable guides. I will post these to the first 10 CR listmembers that have a reasonable use for these - as they should be used - not just looked at, for FREE anywhere in the world. I have posted a photo of the pieces in my Yahoo http://au.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/gts753/detail?.dir=9e4a&.dnm=7544.jp g&.src=ph and to see the device in action http://au.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/gts753/detail?.dir=9e4a&.dnm=a177.jp g&.src=ph or another view http://au.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/gts753/detail?.dir=9e4a&.dnm=9a18.jp g&.src=ph I am placing a challenge out there for others to follow - I do believe that the profit motive needs time to relax, like we do, and take a back seat to sharing and giving. The Xmas season seems perfect for this. BTW, the 5 Star is getting a full refurb next year.
Have a wonderful Xmas,
