I have a Simplex Foret rear derailleur. It is a well madeand very sturdy touring derailleur and a copy of the Suntour design. I believe it is designed to be indexed. This doesn't really help but anything that copied the Suntour design was clearly after January 1985 when Suntours patent (at least in the US) ran out.

By gosh, I just spotted the coolest feature on this derailleur. One of the parallelogram pins is in fact threaded. Pull it out and the whole derailleur flops open for cleaning. Neat.

By the way, is the demise of Simplex a special listmeister OT exemption or what?
