Subject: [CR]Steep Head Tube Angles on Early Hetchins

I own a 1949 Hetchins Super Special with a very steep head tube angle. I noticed on the Hetchins site that a couple other frames of this vintage appear to have the same steep angle. My question is, was this "common" frame geometry for this period bike???

You can see the steepness via the following photo of my bike and one from the Hetchins site:

I once suspected that the bike may have been involved in a header, thus leveraging the head tube steeper, but the restoration proved that it was not (i.e., no evidence of tube wrinkling present). Appreciate any information or insight you may have about this.

Thanks so much, and Merry Christmas to all!
