Subject: [CR]Cool Internet Ride Planning Tool
I don't know how many list members use Google Maps, but there is a free
privately run 3rd party site, http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ that uses it to
create a point by point map of a route that provides accurate mileages, and
as of this month, creates an elevation profile too. Very cool for planning
rides, or as I did this week, recreating the Mt. Baldy ride to see how steep
it really was. Route mileage works in the UK, but no elevations are
available. Now if it only worked in France, I could imagine riding my way up
Alpe d'Huez.
