Subject: [CR]Alternate brake information needed

Having gotten my hubs (Campy Record low-flange) and rims (Nisi 700C tubulars) together, I'm probably going to go off spoke buying in the next week or so and put the wheels together. Initial plans are to use these wheels on my Raleigh Gran Sport for the next few months while it's the only bike in the garage, then transfer them over to whatever follows as my daily rider.

Looking at the Raleigh today, I have a sneaking feeling that the arms on the stock GB centerpulls aren't going to be long enough to work with the proposed wheels. As it's my only rider for the moment, I've got no problem with substituting a different set of brakes in the interim. I'd be most interested in going with Weinmann centerpulls.

Now, I need a bit of jogging in this somewhat faded memory: I seem to remember that the Weinmanns came in a couple of different models and lengths of brake arms. Can someone refresh my memory as to what I should be looking for to gain the length needed to mae the wheel/frame combination work?

Thanks,

George "Syke" Paczolt Montpelier, VA
