I have a 70's Legnano. Just below the seat post lug and to the rear, is a screw hole. A screw held a bracket containing an "over-the-center" release for opening the calipers to remove the rear wheel. If you have seen the Mafac unit, the difference is mainly that the Mafac hanger is held by two extensions held by the seat post pinch bolt.
