Subject: [CR]Bluemels TdF rear fender mount Qs?

I'm looking to mount some Bluemels TdF fenders on a Raleigh Pro fixed gear. I can mount the front fine, but have some questions on mounting the rear:

- Anyone know an elegant way to mount the rear fender w/o rear brake? I'm sure it's fairly easy to use a generic nut, bolt and lock washer, but I'm looking for a more elegant, snazzy way to mount the rear without a rear brake. I suppose I could add the rear brake, but I would prefer to keep the rear brake off. I guess the answer could be a fancy nut, bolt and lock washer? :p

- Which way do the ends of the rear fender face? I can't figure it out. Short end rearwards / long end forwards or vice-versa? My guess is long end rearwards, but that would put the label under the seattube which doesn't quite make sense to me.

I don't even know why I've wanted these things for so long to begin with. I don't ride this bike when it's wet and I can't believe they would do anything. But damn, they do look stylish!!!
