as someone who has maintained a website that probably dwarfs the cr site for 10 years now, i can totally understand dales burnout - ive burned out myself twice now, and only a recent total revamp of messengers.org to make it much much easier to deal with and update, and a passing-off of some of the material there, brought me back from the edge of putting my baby up for adoption.

fortunately, there are more and more sites and pages cropping up with much more specific focus than the cr site - sites/pages devoted to individual countries, framebuilders and component marques.

im of the opinion that these do a terrific service not only to the vintage bike community (as they provide more in-depth resources on more specific subjects), but to people like dale as well (as they take some of the very broad load off of the shoulders of someone running a clearinghouse type resource)

the value of the cr site is now, to me, not so much that it has everything pictured all in one place - but as a general resource, providing links to other sites with more detailed information. a jumping-off point, if you will.

regardless - kudos to *anyone* taking the time to put up a page devoted to their own little corner of devotion in the world of our beloved vintage bikes!
