The Swiss were famous for finishing parts to their liking. Usually you would see parts that were not anodized so they could be brought to a mirror polish, and then sometimes milled or engraved afterward. ICS took it a step further with gold plating as evidenced by Chuck's photos he posted. Plating, (although expensive) and anodizing are really easy to have done. I have done it myself, and it is quite easy. For instance, having extra parts on the Super Record group anodized black to match the derailleurs. The key though, is to divulge the origin, as most unique examples were done aftermarket anyway. Mike Knudsen
