It is not OK to retract a bid due to "entered wrong bid amount" unless you immediately re-bid the correct amount. (i.e. you erroneously bid $1000.00 instead of $10.00, so you go back and re-bid the correct $10.00 figure). "Bidder's remorse / I changed my mind" is not an acceptable reason to retract a bid (at any auction, for that matter). "Entered wrong bid amount" is probably the most-frequently abused reason for bid retractions. I doubt eBay ever does much about it, unless there is a certain frequency or pattern to it, but it is a violation of eBay's basic rules to do so. Greg "eBay nerd" Parker Ann Arbor, Michigan

In regards to his 100% positive feedback rating I would harldy consider this guy "eBay scum". A lot of us CR members have less than that, me included.
It is perfectly all right to retract a bid, not against ebay statutes at all. Maybe he found the same product at a more reasonable price? And I do not see why a $400 bid removed your $600 buy-it-now option. Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the BIN stand until it is overbid? He did however retract his bid within the last 24 hours, but I hardly believe ebay will whack his pipi for that. He is, after all, a member with 163 good sales.
What about the other listees who've sold this guy something? Insights anyone? Scott Sweeney?
Hope you sell it nonetheless.
