Hi Don If I am not mistaken those cranks are the AX ( Aero ) model.A shop here in Melbourne Australia had a NOS NIB set with rings for sale on their throw out table last year for AUS $ 120.No pedals though so that made them not as attractive as the set your "friend"has.Hope this helps.
