Ah, Dura-Ace AX; I remember that. Memories of the aero-rage back in the

No idea what it's worth; sorry. My two memories of AX are that Tim Isaac build a beautiful full aero frame (using Tange Aero tubing) for Trek and fitted it with AX components. It's now in the Shimano museum in Japan.
And Colin O'Brien, WI champ time trialer (now owner of Cronometro in Madison) whom we were sponsoring, came by to pick up a brand-spankin' new AX gruppo from Trek, hauled out the crank, marched out to the factory floor and laid into it with a belt sander. Not aero enough for him... :-)
