I have been on the road for a few days so I have missed a large chunk of this thread. It seems that most folks have listed their favorites as to whom should be on this list. Initially I thought so to. However, after a few minutes thought as to which people have made the most impact within their era I have come up with the following:
1. Tullio Campagnolo - for all of his innovations that has made cycling what it is today.
2. Bill Boston - frame construction fixture design and later his frames made to measure.
3. Bill Shook - 1970's Aluminum frame construction and manufacturing, later to evolve into WEYLESS and American Classic Equipment.
4. HI-E. This family brought us a new innovative way to look at hubs, pedals, rims, etc that lives on today.
5.Craig Calfee - Late 80's design of the first commercially available carbon frames.
Personal Plus 2 as frame builders that deserve recognition :
1. Albert Eisentraut. 2. John Slawta
