That box probably _isn't_ original to the chain, which seems to be a black chain. SedisColor (what's the deal with the missing 's' on the box ?) chains were 50-50 gold/black or silver/black - not black/black. SedisColor chains weren't used on Peugeots until 1976/1977 :

And according to my memory, sediscolor chains were a "second half of the 1970's" thing, so I think that your box is certainly not a 1974 box.
The black chain that I think you are looking for is a "Sedisport".
