In hopes I will reach those whose addresses I have lost, I would like to once again post that the first Sonoma County Vintage Bicycle Association ride will be May 15th. Here is what I sent out to a few listees:

Howdy all, I would like to schedule the first Sonoma County Vintage Bicycle Association ride and b.s. session for May 15th, 2005. Here's the notice I sent to the C.R. newsletter with a couple of changes, namely the date, to accomodate the Cirque.

"Okay, weather is getting better here in Northern California, (the last few days excluded) and I would like to get the first Sonoma County Vintage Bicycle Rendezvous on the road.

The route I have in mind is a flat 22 to 25 miler, great for fixies, mostly on back roads, and the halfway point is the local airport with a display of vintage aircraft, with bathrooms and water for those that need it.

The ride start will be Analy High School in Sebastopol with plenty of parking. There is a great bakery and a couple of sandwich shops very close by; and my garage is about 50 yards away, where my humble collection of bikes can be viewed, or bike maintenance performed. Bring parts to swap or sell.

If any of you guys further south have any interest in coming up, let me know good dates and times for you. It would be great to have you!

I have a number of routes that can be alternated, ranging from flat to steep or a combination of both. This is for fun, no one gets dropped.

Drop me an e-mail ASAP so I can co-ordinate this thing. Thanks!"

So.....as much as I would like to have EVERYONE to be there, scheduling conflicts will always arise. I want to get this thing going so as to gain momentum, and maybe eventually have a Northern California version of a annual Rendezvous.

Now, the next question is start time. If it was up to me, and only the local yocals were going to show up, I would say 9 a.m. However, if anyone from out of town is planning on coming, I would have to say 10 a.m. or maybe 10:30. WHAT SAY YE?
