No, I think that's a good line of thought, Marc. As with all things there are always grey areas.
I think a patient, observant CR member would quickly figure out a few "go-to" members who would give a quick & private "state of the market" price range for unusual items. I do it all the time.
That's a lot different from "I have a ____ I am thinking about selling and wonder what it's worth" That solicits members to effective start bidding against each other, with some unsavory members having used one person against each other to raise the price, with no firm commitment to sell it all! On a couple of occasions the item then ended up on eBay and went to Japan, after CR members beat themselves to death trying to purchase the item! That sucks!
So, in the end, I have to decide what the practice is here on the CR. Trying to maintain good taste and mutual respect and high standards of person to person trading..... Love it or leave it! Ha! Thanks Dale
