Subject: [CR]56 cm Zini Bike for sale

I am selling my Paolo Zini bike. You can see it at: http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/1972_Paolo_Zini

Zini raced professionally for the SCIC team and now works as a goldsmith. His personal work history is actually quite interesting. He raced professionally but didn't enjoy it very much as he felt that were too much politics and not enough racing amongst the pros (this was in a time when Merckx and a few others completely dominated and ruled the peloton). He therefore quit and began building bikes. One summer, he decided to go on vacation to South Africa and found a flourishing market with few top-end racing bikes. He therefore decided to fill the void and began a lucrative trade with South Africa. He built up a good reputation there. On one of his visits, he met some people in the gold trade and decided to give working as a goldsmith a go. Before switching to smithery, he sold a license to a local South African who continued producing bikes with the Zini name.

The bike is not all original. Zini has personally confirmed that the bike wasbuilt in 1972 for the South African market but ended up staying in Italy. It is equipped as follows: Campagnolo Nuovo Record headset, chainset, seatpost, rear derailleur, front derailleur and hubs. The pedals are Campagnolo Super Leggeri. The saddle is the original Selle Italia. The handlebars are 3TTT, as are the stem and the handlebar caps. The rims are Nisi Countach. The only truly discordant elements are the CLB brake levers that were matched up with the original Universal super 68 brake calipers. For more information check out the photos or send me an email.

I will also be including the signed photos that appear on Wooljersey with the bike. I would like $400 plus shipping costs.
