[CR]stainless steel mudguards and toe clip advice?

It isn't a classic but I used up some old parts when I cobbled myself a new frame down in the basement .. http://home.nycap.rr.com/richboat/conchdone.jpg The black fenders and plastic toeclips have to go (I have gum Diacompe hoods ordered to replace the black shimano hoods)
   I have some black planet bike fenders on the bike but stainless steel would look better, My question is how easily damaged are the SS Berthoud fenders? Also, where can I find some extra large stainless steel toe clips( besides ebay)?
