Greetings to the list, there has been a lot of interesting topics over the last few days, and I have a few observations. In the mid 70's I was looking for a new race bike to replace my somewhat dated 1966 Bianchi team bike, I did stop at Talbots in San Mateo and looked at the DeRosa's, of the few I looked at, they were noticably cobby. A mile or so away in San Carlos the Velo Club bike shop was selling California built Masi's, I think the price difference was about $40.00, but in my view at the time the Masi's were perfect in fit and finish, I bought one, still have it. I think one of the problems Bianchi has as far as magic goes is the lack of a name builder, no Ugo, Cino or Ernesto or even a Mario. I always felt safe on the Bianchis I raced on, they were as stiff as a telephone pole stuck in the ground in a b###s to the wall sprint and descended like a Ducati I later owned. A Listmember commented on the color, It was OK with Fausto so Its OK with me. The holy grail, that would be an actual bike that Coppi, Anquetil or Merckx raced on.
