David, what stem is on there now? My mid-'70's GC has Cinelli bars and stem.
Any Cinelli bars or stem of your bike's vintage should be 26.4mm
As for my recent stem search for my "new" Raleigh Professional, I lucked upon a 115mm 1A stem Saturday at the Mill Valley Bike Swap, bought for $5, and an occasional list poster (name eludes me) sold me a fine hi-flanged rear wheel.
Now, let me check, that stem I bought better be 26.4!!!
