After about six weeks, not a little money and a few frustrations, my 1980 TI Raleigh Team Pro is back on the road as of this weekend.

This machine, bought locally from the original owner, was originally a 1975 Team Pro (531 tubing) that suffered a frame fracture and was upgraded in 1980 to a 753 frame.

NOS Mavic GP-4 rims on the original hubs and NOS Maillard dural freewheel, all other components original from the '75 machine.

A very "racy" machine to ride and uber light (weighs in at exactly the specs at 19 3/4 lbs). It was on a machine just like this that Joop Zoetemelk won the 1980 TdF, the pinnacle of the epic TI Raleigh Team.

Pix are posted in my Wool Jersey album:

Just three words: nice, nice, nice!

With a lighter saddle and rims, this bike would weigh under 19 pounds! And that's in a 61 cm. size....

Isn't the Maillard freewheel made from magnesium, though? Lightest freewheel ever made, as far as I know. About 135 grams....
