Older Cinelli SCs like my 1960 came with the shouldered nut and bolt and the later Cinelli SCs like your 1972 used the two Allen bolts threaded into a center "faceted barrel" affair that went between the seat stays. I don't know at what point the change was made. Anyone know?

Here's a new subject for discussion... Allen key bolt fittings on bicycles. The earliest Allen head bolts I'm aware of are the two large ones on the Tullio Campagnolo's 1951 Gran Sport rear derailleur. In 1958, when the Record 5-pin cotterless crank was introduced, Tullio got a patent granted on hollow chainring bolts with Allen key hole and crank bolt cover with Allen key hole. In 1971 the Allen seatbinder bolt was introduced.

I think around 1960 Cino Cinelli introduced the aluminum 1A stem with the Allen stem bolt and then around 1972 added the Allen handlebar binder bolt.

T.A. had an Allen key seat post binder bolt (ref:365) and the same with cable hanger (ref:368), but I don't know the intro date.

Anyone with other examples with introduction dates?
