Subject: [CR]1980 Raleigh 753 Team Pro for sale

I have a 1980 Raleigh Team Pro for sale. It is a 56.5 cm. c-t, 753 road version, S/N SB4288. Team colors (red/black/yellow), set up by previous owner for time trialing. If it were only about 3 or 4 cm larger......!

Standover height is about 31.5 inches (80 cm.) - TT length is about 56 cm. WB is 99 cm. as currently set up.

Specs. are:

Headset - Campagnolo Super Record BB - Campagnolo Nuovo Record, 68-SS Cranks - Campagnolo Super Record, 170, 42-52 Front der. - Campagnolo Record "three-hole," NOS Shifters - Campagnolo Record braze-on, second generation (NOS) Rear der. - Campagnolo Super Record (Pat. 80) Hubs - Campagnolo Record, rear is 32, large, front is 28, small, curved skewers Rims - Wolber "Profil 18" narrow aero tubular, grey anodized Spokes - Alpina "aero" 15 gauge stainless steel (hubs not slotted...) Front wheel is laced radially, rear is two-cross. Tires - National (Cycle Pro) 240 gram tubulars , narrow (NOS, not glued yet) Pedals - Campagnolo Record SL w/ alloy Campag clips, Binda Extra straps Bar - Cinelli Criterium #65, 42 cm. Stem - Cinelli XA, 11 cm. Brake calipers - Campagnolo Record Brake levers - Campagnolo ("Cobalto?") aero, can be set up either style Brake cable housings - black Seatpost - Campagnolo (early Chorus?) aero Saddle - Concor "Lite," black Freewheel - Suntour Winner Pro six-speed, 13-19 Chain - Regina hollow-pin, black

Basically, most of the parts are believed to be original to the bike, except the post, saddle, spokes, rims, brake levers, bars, and stem.

The only significant parts issues is that the left pedal's toe-kick tab is broken (missing), and the brake calipers are allen-bolt mount (or was that being done by 1980?). The brakes are set up Euro-style, i.e. the right lever actuates the front brake.

Original finish is somewhat weathered, but very presentable, and I would recommend against a re-paint IMO....

753 decal very deteriorated, all Raleigh and TI decals are present and in pretty good condition ("Team" on the top tube is probably the most worn/faded, but still not too bad). Ilkeston foil chainstay decals present and in fine shape.

Some surface rust, but not much, and it is mostly under the BB area. Bike has the Gargatte BB ("RGF") and the early fork crown.

Approx. 20.0 pounds as equipped, by my quick measurement....

$1150 plus shipping at cost (I estimate $75 - I will take it to my LBS for packing and UPS shipment).

Please contact me off-list if you are interesting, as Richard would say (hi e-RICHIE!).

I will try to get some digital pics. of it soon.....
