Rob,
Meeting the framebuilders and restorers is one of the main reasons I attend the Cirque. I'm always curious to know what kind of people they are, what kind of misic they listen to and what kind of pets they perfer. I always look for a sense of humor and a peoson who isn't taking themselves TOO seriously. I always find it. These guys are great fun to be with; and now and again I learn something new and exciting about framebuilding and painting.
I would attend the event regardless, but having the eccentric framebuilder/restorer element there adds the spice the event needs. I love seeing the bikes, but the general populace of the event and meeting them and making new friends is priceless. I suggest instead of asking the question, you should come and see for yourself. Warning in advance. If you come once, you will probably not miss any others. It's that much fun, it's bigger and better every year, and you get to meet some pretty "out there" framebuilders.
Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA Stepping up. Going from 75MHz to 600MHz on my computer! Writing email from my shop for the first time. I can't believe how slow my old steam powered computer was. Finally going to be able to catch up on email and load pictures from my camera to my computer. Get ready Bob Hovey, there are going to be Masi photos out the WAZOO!
For those that attended the Cirque, to what degree was it important for you that current framebuilders were on hand? Would you say this is a reason you attended? Would you have been able to meet anyone in this category otherwise? Has this raised the chances that you would order a frame or get a restoration done after meeting a framebuilder or restorer?
