An Umberto Dei alert! Read the CR summary. Can someone
school me on this marque from the 50s onward? Were his
bikes widely raced, or was he a custom builder for the
well-heeled? When did production cease? Any design
characteristics that uniquely define an Umbo and make
it recognizable in rough shape? I can't make out much
detail from the pics, but I surely love his taste in
color schemes in the bike for sale and in the bike on
CR page.
