Greetings all:

Just home off the road from my trip to Kansas City and the swap meet at the Acme Bicycle Co. Met Acme proprietor (CR member) Sarah and her business partner Christy. I am endebted to Christy for removing the English threaded pedals that were forced into my French thread Stronglight cranks over 30 years ago. I personally think there was more of interest at the KC swap than at the St Louis swap held earlier this year. Snagged some Campy crank bolts and dust covers among other things.

From what I understand, Acme is a relatively new endeavor, but Sarah has a wonderful selection of vintage parts. I saw at least two Bianchis hanging about the shop, one a fixed gear. An Eddy Merckx of older vintage also sticks in my mind. Sarah has a nice selection of cranks including a drilled Stronglight that sorely tempted me. Perhaps when I am closer to redoing my Lejeune... Unfortunately in my haste to leave for KC on Sat, I left my camera at home, but considering KC is just over three hours away and that my son lives there; I think a return visit is in the cards.

Met former CR lister Rick Chastain and chatted for a bit. Ran into Paul from Recycled Cycles in StL, who as always is looking for goodies. Personally, I did not sell a bloody thing, but enjoyed meeting the people and getting to spend time with my son.
