Agreed, and I found a brochure photo online that shows that stem with the striped band around the quill. I guess I'm figuring the Cinelli parts are actually "correct" in terms of how most or many of these bikes were ridden at that time, since the "NR+Cinelli+Brooks+TAcage" assemblage almost constituted the de-rigeur build "grouppo" for any top-level racing bike, each part considered the best of it's kind. If I found the correct stem and bars for a reasonable sum I would surely consider them, but I think there's 100 1A stems laying about for each single stripe-banded 3T stem, and I don't yet even have a spec' for the exact bars. My bikes are all riders, and I wouldn't, for example, even consider riding my Masi with the stock saddle. Compromise, for now, will prevail. Curiously the saddle on this 1975 bike carries a "67" stamping on the rear bar, so, with the many other component deviations from "catalog" (most of which I've now corrected), I'm also assuming these bikes were at least occasionally sold as bare framesets.
