The blue bike with the white lugs shown in the 2nd page of pictures is not a Peter Moon. It is a Glenn Erickson, owned by Ted Miller, of Delaware. I believe Ted offered it for sale at Cirque for $1700 complete. It didn't sell. As I recall it is 59cm with a 57 or 58 toptube. I've posted a few photos of this year's Cirque' at: http://community.webshots.com/album/344312277kKZRQp I didn't take hardly any pictures compared to last year, I was having too much fun to carry the camera around. Thanks Ray, Chris and Sheldon for yours! And then most of my shots are of my particular fetish of the past few years, fixed gear bikes. Most are bikes shot I haven't seen from others, except of course Wayne's Baylis and Harvey's Paramount track bike. The full size photos are linked below the regular shot. Dale, you're welcome to download them if you wish. And if anyone is interested, there are still 2004's shots up if you noodle around the site.

And, it's way early, but I've had a couple of people ask about it. I'm planning another vintage, fixed gear, Bobish ride from my house again in July, Saturday, the 16th. We'll have the Tour on when we get back (may not be in the mountains yet). I'll be serving hot dogs from the grill and a few sides, you can bring what you want if you wish and there should be some beer in the cooler (and soda).

Feel free to bring more than what you'll ride. I love seeing everyone else's bikes and we'll line 'em up on the deck and out in the yard if we have too many.

I'll try to ease up a bit on the route, but according to Ken Sanford, last year's ride was definitely fixed gear "unfriendly". I do plan to be on mine. Maybe I'm the fixed gear foolish. I'll post a shortcut that cuts out the really big dropoff and has an easier climb out of that particular valley, but you'll miss the pretty Deer Creek Road if you do. I can't cut out the steep one that Steve Maasland got trapped on with the trike and death pedals unless I reverse the route, but we'll see. Maybe I'll be inspired to do something completely different! Tom Adams might be right. He believes in the granny gear. The ride WILL be easier this year! I'll make the cue sheets a bit wordy, gotta do it for all these vintage bikes without computers. Multitito's anyone? Ask anyone who's done these rides, even with the terrain its really spectacular biking around here in lovely Parkton, Maryland.
