Dear Listmembers,

Just a note. The names and locations shown in some cases list alternative names for the same builder (as in the builder's name and then a trade name sometimes) along with other apparent errors. No need to nitpick.

The list is long and does not include some of the old timers and key figures in California framebuilding. Who compiled the list? What are the sources? I suspect most people know I'm a genuine California builder and that I'm active building classic road, touring, and track frames.

What surprises me is that one of the important and talented builders from the early California scene is not listed yet. An oversight, to be sure! He has taken home multiple Best of Show awards from several vintage events in various parts of the world, and yet some have forgotton; or perhaps it's that everyone assumes that is greatness is widely recognized. I am speaking of the one and ONLY Bruce Gordon.

What needs to be known about Bruce is this. Bruce has entered a new phase of his extraordinary life as a creative designer and framebuilder. Shortly you will be seeing the new Bruce Gordon Cycles with a new look combined the ever popular classic appeal that has made him famous WORLD WIDE. My advice to those seeking to become the owner of a handmade piece of functional art from a modern master, would be to look up Bruce Gordon Cycles and begin to discuss your personal work. Bruce is available to build bikes right away and in timely fashion. Be one of the first on your block to get the popular lapel pin "I was amuzed by Bruce Gordon" to go with your order. A select number of collector series Bruce Gordon pins will be issued to non purchasers, but supply of each pin in the collector series will be limited and severely controlled.

Just wanted to fill in some blanks and be the first to break the exciting news directly from Bruce Gordon Cycles in Petaluma, CA. Yes, that's CALIFORNIA! California may be the land of "fruits and nuts", but Bruces work is second to none an REALLY tasty! Wait until you see the new special editions. HOT!

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA I know cool bikes when I see them and I know exceptional people when I meet them. My buddy Bruce has it all.
