Stalag 122 Prison Camp, near Clermont-in-Oise, France, 4th July 1944. The prisoners received double rations from the Red Cross to celebrate Independence Day. My barber, Roy Barton (right foreground), traded a pack of cigarettes to one of the German guards in exchange for photographing his sparring match with Frank Dixon (left), coincidentally capturing fellow prisoner Joe Magnani in the same image (right front row in red circle).
