Subject: [CR]What I rode today...a Chiropractic Bike!

Right after Monday's ride on my beloved old Peter Mooney I threw my back out and was in considerable discomfort. This morning I got out the Richard Sachs and thought I'd try a short ride as I was still hurting considerably. It was a lovely morning so I rode further than I had intended but very near the end of the ride I had one of those flats from Hell where the sidewall on a very expensive (Continental Attack force) tire got punctured somehow, the spare tube I was carrying blew when I had it inflated for a few seconds, three crummy Nashbar instant patches failed, my Brand X mini-pump didn't work well, and I ended up pushing the bike for a couple of miles back to the car. Found that my LBS cannot order just one Continental tire at a time (some new policy of their distributor) and so went to Bob Lickton for help instead. I did get a new Crank Brothers Mini-pump, though...and some better patches. For all this, it was a nice morning with high 60s temp and nice scenery. As an added bonus as I sit here typing I notice that my back is not hurting. Now, normally I give E-Ritchie lots of credit for everything, but I can't believe even he built chiropractic care into that bike. Or did he?
