I have a question: was this frame made when Rossin owned the name, or when Basso owned the name? The stamp on the crown might suggest carry-over from the last of the legit Pogliaghis, thus maybe it was made under Rossin... but the graphics look late enough that it's probably a Basso.
Any good way to tell a Rossin Pogliaghi from a Basso Pogliaghi, beyond a verified manufacture/sale date? From finish details, for instance?
My ill-informed guess is that this is a Basso frame. What says a more informed expert?
Nice bike...but not a legit Pogliaghi in my book...'course, if it was made by Basso when they brought Sante out of retirement, to consult on the manufacture of a new line of frames carrying his name (which is what happened, according to a brochure provided to me by Norm Hellman; thanks Norm)...then is it sorta legit in a second-hand way?
