Jonathan Greene hosted (and took) these pictures of the Cuevas that Mark Poore bought at the Cirque Charity auction and that I ended up with after a bit of wheeling and dealing with Mark. These are pictures "before" refinishing. The toptube has a dent and many paint chips. Fernando Cuevas provided the correct decals. For those of you not familiar with Francisco Cuevas, he started building in Spain as a teenager in the 1920s!! The Spanish Civil War caused him to flea Spain, He spent time in France and Argentina before moving to the New York City area in the early 1970s where he built for Paris Sport along with G. Limongi and Ramon Orero. I believe he retired from building in the late 1980s--imagine over 60 years of experience! Sadly, Francisco passed away earlier this year in his beloved Barcelona, Spain. His son and grandson continue the Cuevas framebuilding and team sponsorship in the New York City area. Some frame features to note: See the X inside the bottom of the fork steerer tube. I particularly like the seat cluster and rear dropout treatment. Thanks Jonathan for the pictures. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
