Our mentor in the early 60's Oscar Juner, a pro six day race before and after the war swore by shellac, that was all there was. we all used it on our track wheels, not that difficult to use and easier to clean up. I don't know any one who ever rolled a tire in the old days, except on the road.
Thousands of six day racers and other track racers couldn't have been wrong.
